The owner / about

Welcome to  « L’Escale du Ciel » !

After my design studies at the 'chambre syndicale de la haute couture parisienne' in Paris, I have always longed to find the way back to France again, so with the purchase of this house and the resulting project for me a dream came true .

Time for breakfast

In the last years,  I have managed a number of interior furnishing projects, especially in the holiday-vacation business.

So I hope, as my future guests you will enjoy a wonderful time at this marvelous place, styled and individually designed with a lot passion and love.

Une escale vers le ciel ... a stopover in the sky ... between sea and mountains, this "Chambre d'Hotes du Charme" takes you on a journey through the past of France and its former colonies.

You will find hand-painted and patinated furniture, antique chairs and tables from the former Indochina, lamps from Marocco and also some slight African influences, all puristically and individually designed.

The use of high-quality materials, e.g. antique hand-baked terracotta tiles with the footprints of animal paws, antique stoneware jugs from China, which have found a new life task as a washbasin, exquisite bed linen from Belgium, handmade dishes and much more will pleasure your eyes and invite you to linger on.

Enjoy the spectacular views of the Maritime Alps up to the medieval village of "Gourdon", to the nearby mediterrian village "Le Bar sur Loup" and to a small vineyard in the valley.

The village can be reached  within a 5-minute walk to enjoy, for example, dinner at the small village square in a cozy atmosphere or just to have a delicious freshly baked croissants in the morning.

The surrounding offers also many opportunities for leisure activities the whole year round.

The closest beach is for example within 25 minutes reach and the first skiing slope will be just 45 minutes away.

Le Mas "L´Escale du Ciel"

Almost all places of interest such as St Paul, Valbonne, Gourdon, Le Gorge du Loup with its famous waterfalls, the perfume town of Grasse, Nice, the sea etc. are within less than half an hours drive from the house.

Legendary and especially recommendable is also the Friday market in Valbonne, which takes place allover the small streets of the "vieux village".

So see you soon for a "stopover" at "L`Escale du Ciel"

Best wishes

Judith Thiel
